With deep gratitude, Skin Joy honors Leah’s loving mother, Lorie Joy, who courageously faces advanced stages of Dementia. Lories is an exquisite woman, & with the presence of a kind word & a strong embrace. Leah can hear her - the ‘meaning of life is to find your gift, & the purpose of life is to give it away’. Skin Joy honours Lorie’s grace by supporting individuals & family members with dementia by way of offering our services complimentary via the Alzheimer's Society.
Skin Joy further prioritizes giving back by supporting local children's charities including Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon - a nonprofit organization that offers support, accommodation, & programs that help reduce the stress & financial burden for families when they are caring for a sick child. Leah & her husband Daniel know first-hand that these services directly improve the health & well-being of children, & similarly that of their families. We are honoured to support these families by offering complimentary & annual services.
Our Founder Leah Joy
Advanced Clinical Facialist, Leah Joy, saw the need to bridge the gap between medical aesthetics & traditional spa offerings (in Whistler) to create an ultra-luxurious, one-of-a-kind experience while in the comfort & privacy of our client's home or vacation home. Skin Joy is our concept of a beauty spa sanctuary, where self-care is effortlessly accessible & is a way of life at home & while on vacation.
Leah believes our unique beauty & elegance comes with being comfortable in our skin. She trusts the exquisite value & importance of looking after our health & wellness both internally & externally. She reshapes the meaning of beauty by putting an emphasis on your overall health & how this is reflected on your skin. Using modern technology & all-natural products, Leah can provide clients with immediate, visible results for defined, nourished, healthy glowing skin without harming their skin with lasers or micro-needling.
Leah also holds a diploma in Acupressure & Massage & a Diploma in Foot Reflexology. She integrates these traditional Eastern healing modalities to soothe & relax tired muscles, to promote the flow of Qi (life energy) throughout the body to help balance forces of both negative & positive energy- yin & yang.
Many cultures believe that the foot mirrors the body’s system & that both spiritual & physical ailments are caused by blockages in the Qi. Targeted massaging of specific acupressure & reflex points along meridians helps the body & mind return to a place of harmony, & balance the body’s equilibrium improving your overall well-being.
Outside the ‘spa’, Leah leads an active & healthy lifestyle. You can find her playing in the mountains alongside her German native husband Daniel & their 1-year-old twin boys, Noah & Oskar. Their years of travelling, adventuring & spa-ing together through Europe & South East Asia has inspired Leah’s refined (or cultured) skincare & body treatment finesse.
